Job description: Preschool (Head Start) Teacher
Colorado Early Education Network is a federally funded, non-profit organization that provides comprehensive Head Start/Early Head Start early childhood education and learning services to eligible children birth to age 5.
CEEN is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Preschool Teacher, who takes pride in his/her work, and thrives in an environment in which creativity, teamwork, resourcefulness and critical thinking are highly desired and valued.
This is a 42-44 weeks per year; non-exempt; 40 hrs. per week position.
Staff choose to either work during the summer (year-round work while the schools are closed) at the Main Office; or some staff choose job-attached summer furlough with unemployment benefits.

Pay: $19.60 - $21.10 per hour
Responsibilities:
1 Teacher, 1 Assistant Teacher and 1 part-time Program Aide in each "extended day" classroom with 17-18 children. Extended day classrooms have 17-18 children who attend school from 8:00-2:00; staff complete paperwork and planning from 2:00-4:00, Monday-Friday.
CEEN uses a "team approach". Site Education Managers (SEM) provide oversight and supervision at each center/preschool. SEM's provide support to Teachers and Assistant Teachers.
Each "teaching team" (Teacher/Assistant Teacher) are assigned an Instructional Coach that visits their classroom on a regular basis and provides support and instructions to teaching staff.
Teachers are responsible for the weekly preparation of daily lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum lesson plan templates and individualizing them for their classroom; which includes learning objectives and developmentally appropriate activities.
Teachers document child observations, individual goals, assessments, etc. Teaching Strategies GOLD is the online database used for child observations and assessments.
Minimum Requirements:
AA (required) or BA (preferred) degree in ECE or related field (Human Development; Child/Family
Studies; etc.) with a minimum of 15 ECE credits.
910 clock hours of verified early childhood teaching experience
